Who we are
Education International's North America and Caribbean (NAC) Region brings together education unions and organisations from across North America and the Caribbean. The region represents affiliates working in diverse educational, political, economic, and cultural contexts, while sharing a common commitment to quality public education, trade union rights, equity, and social justice.
The region promotes collaboration and solidarity among member organisations, supports advocacy on issues affecting educators and education workers, and contributes to Education International's global priorities. Particular attention is given to strengthening union capacity, defending labour and human rights, advancing gender equality, promoting inclusive and quality public education, and responding to challenges facing the education sector across the region.
For Caribbean affiliates, the Caribbean Union of Teachers serves as an important mechanism for regional collaboration and advocacy, bringing together teacher organisations from across the Caribbean to address common educational and professional challenges while contributing to the broader objectives of Education International.
